CALL FOR SPECIAL SESSION PROPOSAL
12-13th August 2026, Bangi
Information Retrieval (IR) and Knowledge Management (KM) remain foundational pillars of intelligent systems, shaping how information is discovered, organized, contextualized, and transformed into actionable knowledge. With the rapid emergence of large language models (LLMs), multimodal AI, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic systems, the roles of IR and KM are being fundamentally redefined. These technologies do not replace classical principles; rather, they amplify the need for robust retrieval, knowledge structuring, evaluation, and governance mechanisms.
While CAMP 2026 remains anchored in IR and KM, we recognize that contemporary challenges increasingly demand broader computational, educational, and socio-technical perspectives. We therefore invite proposals for organising Special Sessions during CAMP 2026 addressing adjacent and emerging areas, such as:
- Computer Science Education and AI-Supported Learning
- Digital Transformation, Data Governance, and Knowledge Ecosystems
- Human-Centered and Trustworthy Intelligent Systems
- Decision-Support, Analytics, and Knowledge-Driven Technologies
- Other related areas
The proposed session should address emerging topics, unresolved challenges, novel methodologies, or innovative applications that can stimulate meaningful academic and professional discourse.
Each proposal should include:
- Title of the Special Session / Workshop
- Names, affiliations, and brief bios of organisers
- Rationale and motivation
- Scope and topics of interest
- Expected audience and impact
- List of 6 prospective papers
Each Special Session proposal must include a preliminary list of a minimum of six (6) prospective papers intended for presentation within the session. The list should contain:
- Tentative paper titles
- Author names and affiliations
All papers submitted to an approved Special Session must adhere to the standard CAMP 2026 submission guidelines, including formatting, review process, and publication policies. Papers will be evaluated with the same rigor and quality standards as regular conference submissions. This requirement ensures the thematic coherence, viability, and academic value of the proposed session.
The organiser(s) and committee of the Special Session are expected to:
If the minimum number of 6 accepted papers is met, 1 paper in the Special Session will be eligible for a waiver.
Submit the proposal to admin@camp2026.pecamp.org by 14th March 2026. The organising committee will deliberate on the proposal and revert by 28th March 2026.
Thank you in advance for your kind cooperation.
